at Take to Heart Specialty Wood Products, we strive to achieve excellence in environmental consciousness while conducting business. we utilize sustainable methods and materials in our work, often using salvaged or low-grade logs at the onset of a project. we take the time & invest the effort into extracting high quality wood from what would otherwise be destined for the woodpile or the pulp mill. please scroll down to learn more about our green initiatives.

organic garden project

Take to Heart is passionate about waste reduction. we are always coming up with new ideas to reduce & reuse waste, including our own wood waste. with a little innovation & some advice from some local gardening gurus, our onsite garden, which is projected to expand by another 1/3 this year, has become a labour of love. walvaged logs & stumps form the borders & planters, & our wood chips & sawdust are components for nutrient-rich compost. we distribute the produce to our staff, to local families in need, and to our local food bank.
